Have questions about Permanent Makeup?
Enhanced Cosmetics has answers below to commonly asked questions:
Will permanent makeup drastically change my appearance?
You won’t walk out of the office unrecognizable! In fact, permanent makeup is designed to enhance and replenish your features, so you’ll look like the best version of yourself. Amy is an expert at helping you choose the colors that suit your skin tone, leading you to a natural, fresh look that you can “dress up” with additional cosmetics.
Does permanent makeup hurt?
The process of permanent makeup uses a small tattoo needle that deposits pigmentation under a thin layer of skin. Any discomfort you may feel is offset by new topical anesthetics (creams and gels) that Amy applies to the eyelids, brows and lips before and during the procedure. Many clients exclaim that the procedure was easier than expected.
How long will my permanent makeup last?
The good news: permanent makeup lasts a long time—much longer than your lipsticks that break and your eye pencils that smudge! But, permanent makeup uses organic and inorganic pigmentations rather than tattoo ink, which means the color will begin to fade over time. Depending on your body chemistry and your sun exposure, your permanent makeup will last between two to five years. Many clients receive touch-ups after a few years to redefine their makeup.
How long will the process take?
Depending on your procedure, you’ll be in the chair for one to two hours—nothing compared to the hours you’ve spent in front of the mirror applying and reapplying makeup.
I have a medical condition. Can I still receive permanent makeup?
You should consult with your doctor if you have diabetes or hemophilia, or are taking the prescription drug Coumadin. If you have another medical condition, always bring this to Amy’s attention during your consultation.
How quickly will I recover?
You’ll be able to resume your normal activities the next day. Your face may swell, and your makeup colors will initially be darker than the true shade. Please review this guide for your after-care tips.
Will permanent makeup really save me money?
Who knows how much money you’ve spent in your lifetime on ordinary cosmetics. Permanent makeup is a smart investment, eliminating all of those makeup products you purchase that linger at the bottom of your purse or makeup drawer. You will save money in the long run.
