The process of permanent makeup uses a small tattoo needle that deposits pigmentation under a thin layer of skin. The good news: permanent makeup lasts a long time—much longer than your lipsticks that break and your eye pencils that smudge! But, permanent makeup uses organic and inorganic pigmentations rather than tattoo ink, which means the color will begin to fade over time. Depending on your procedure, you’ll be in the chair for one to two hours—nothing compared to the hours you’ve spent in front of the mirror applying and reapplying makeup.

You should consult with your doctor if you have diabetes or hemophilia, or are taking the prescription drug Coumadin. If you have another medical condition, always bring this to Amy’s attention during your consultation.
